MUSIC

We deeply value Music and how this can support our children’s wider development.  Mrs Buhagiar leads a rich and exciting Music curriculum across our school and encourages children to attend instrumental tuition and choir opportunities.

We are delighted to be able to share that from September 2025, Mrs Buhagiar will be offering on-site piano and vocal tuition.  She is also able to support your child through recognised examinations should that be of interest. 

We also have a strong link with Rocksteady which allows children to express themselves through a rock band.  Take a look at their work here. 

FOREST SCHOOL

We offer the chance for our Nursery & Reception children to learn outside of their classroom on a weekly basis. These sessions are led by a trained, in school, Forest School Leader and take place in our very own wooded environment.

PE

Physical Education (PE) is an integral part of the curriculum at South Rise.  We understand the positive impact these early experiences can have on the physical and mental well-being of our pupils and therefore constantly strive to offer the very best.

Annually, we compete with other schools across the Compass Partnership and hold a Compass Sport's Day at Sutcliffe Park.

FRENCH

Our chosen Modern Foreign Language is French and from September 2025, will be taught be a specialist languages teacher to all children across our school.
